The WTM 4800 from Aviat Networks is a multi-band radio platform that operates in both the 15-23 GHz band and the 71-86 GHz band. This 5G backhaul solution supports frequencies from 71-76, 81-86 GHz (E-Band), and 15, 18, 23 GHz (in the lower band). Additional microwave frequencies for the lower band are also available upon request. This radio platform significantly lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to alternative Multi-Band solutions that rely on two, three, and even four separate boxes.
The WTM 4800 is available in three product variants:
- 10 Gbps E-Band: Single channel 80 GHz radio
- 20 Gbps E-Band: Dual channel 80 GHz radio (with optional XPIC)
- 10 Gbps Multi-Band: Single integrated Multi-Band radio includes single-channel 80 GHz plus a single or dual-channel microwave (6-42 GHz) support in one self-contained and integrated outdoor unit.
The radio platform supports QPSK to 256QAM modulation with channel sized from 250 to 2000 MHz (E-Band) and QPSK to 4096QAM modulation and channel sized from 7 to 112 MHz (Microwave, Multi-Band).
The WTM 4800 includes an advanced 50 Gbit/s Carrier Ethernet switch, four user traffic ports, including 2x 10 GE/SFP+, 1 GE, and 1 GE/PoE, plus direct 48 VDC DC option, AES Encryption, Multi-Layer Header Compression, IEEE 1588v2 TC/BC, embedded SDN (Netconf/Yang) capability, and fully upgradeable by software to support IP/MPLS.
