The CMX90G302 from CML Microcircuits is a Cascadable MMIC Gain Block that operates from 1.4 to 7.1 GHz. It provides a small signal gain of more than 14.8 dB, has a noise figure of 1.9 dB, and a P1dB of 11.5 dBm. This gain block has a positive gain slope of 2 dB across the band, eliminating the need for equalization and compensating for increasing system losses with frequency. It uses pHEMT technology to provide a combination of low DC power, low noise, and high gain. The gain block requires a DC supply from 2.7 to 5 V and consumes 20 mA of current. It has an operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C.
The CMX90G302 is available in a 16-lead VQFN package that measures 3 x 3 mm and has RF ports matched on-chip to 50 Ohms with DC blocking capacitors. It is suitable for use in Tx and Rx systems, 4G/5G wireless infrastructure, TDD and FDD, IF amplifier, license-free bands, general purpose gain block, and eliminating passive equalizer.
