The RNBD451 from Microchip Technology is a 2.4 GHz Bluetooth 5.2 Low Energy Module. It delivers a data rate of up to 2 Mbps and supports 2M uncoded PHY and Long Range (coded PHY). This module is based on Microchip’s PIC32CX-BZ2 Bluetooth Low Energy System-on-Chip (SoC) and has a built-in Microchip transparent profile for UART data streaming. It has a built-in Microchip OTA Profile with client and server roles for OTA DFU execution and integrated 16 MHz POSC. This module supports Bluetooth Low Energy Privacy 1.2 with up to eight resolvable and accept lists and up to six concurrent Bluetooth Low Energy connections. It comes with an on-board PCB antenna for optimal RF performance and saving time and RF-design hassle.
The RNBD451 requires a DC supply of 3.3 V and consumes less than 300 mA of current. It delivers a Tx power of +15 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of up to -125 dBm. This module is available in an SMD package with shield CAN that measures 15.5 x 20.7 x 2.8 mm and can be controlled via UART and GPIO interfaces. It is ideal for health/medical devices, sports activity/fitness meters, beacon applications, Internet of Things (IoT) sensor tags, remote controls, wearable smart devices and accessories, smart energy/smart home and industrial control applications.
