The PSA2703 from Aim-TTi is a Handheld RF Spectrum Analyzer that operates from 1 MHz to 2.7 GHz. This analyzer provides RF service engineers with a cost-effective and highly portable tool that can be carried to areas that have traditionally been difficult to access with benchtop instruments. It has a noise level of -105 dBm and can measure amplitude in dBm, dBµV, mV, and µW. It has a phase noise of -88 dBc/Hz @ 100 kHz offset, spurious levels of better than -70 dBc, and harmonics of -60 dBc. It has an auto-find feature that automatically sets sweep parameters for the highest signal found. The analyzer includes a zero-span mode with both AM and FM audio demodulation. The audio signal, with variable volume and selectable low-pass filter, is available from the built-in loudspeaker or from a standard 3.5mm jack socket.
The PSA2703 has a 4.3-inch touchscreen TFT LCD display and can also be controlled via a hard key control interface. It operates from a Li-ion rechargeable battery that can provide more than 3 hours of continuous operation. For continuous bench-top operation, it can be powered from the AC adapter which also recharges the batteries in less than 3 hours. It can store large amounts of data using its 1.8 GB internal memory which can be supplemented by USB flash drives.
This spectrum analyzer has a casing that includes rubberized buffers at the top and bottom to help resist knocks and scratches. It also has a removable screen protector and sun-shield that combines with rubberized buffers to enhance its use in the field. The PSA2703 is available in an enclosure that measures 192 x 92 x 49 mm and weighs 0.58 Kg. It is ideal for interference analysis, antenna alignment, signal strength mapping, covert transmitter detection, spurious emissions, EMC frequency evaluations, and other applications within radio communication field environments.
