The TDEMI S Series from GAUSS INSTRUMENTS are Real-Time Spectrum and Signal Analyzers that operate from 1 Hz to 50 GHz (1, 6, 9, 18, 26, 40, 44, and 50 GHz options). They can be configured to be extended by external mixers up to the Terahertz frequency range. These spectrum analyzers provide real-time I/Q analysis over a bandwidth of up to 510 MHz and have a dynamic range of 100 dB. The flexible configurability allows the use of the instrument as a Spectrum Analyzer, Real-time Spectrum Analyzer, and Signal Analyzer. The analyzer requires either an external DC supply of +12 V or can be battery-driven and has been optimized for low power consumption while maintaining ultra-high performance.
The TDEMI S Series uses Hyper-Overlapping technology with an FFT-based mode that provides the capability to record and display signals with a much higher resolution than similar instruments. High-resolution ADCs, which use patented technology to compensate for nonlinear effects, achieve the highest measurement accuracy. For fully automated measurements, the Automation Software Suite EMI64k supports all operation modes of the TDEMI S, and these instruments can be used for EMC measurements in the typical mode as well as in the real-time spectrogram mode.
Due to its flexible configuration, the TDEMI S series can be configured for a variety of applications including communication and EMC testing (full- or pre-compliance). They can also be upgraded at a later stage and therefore extended for new applications. The extension with external mixers into the THz range allows the TDEMI S spectrum analyzers to be used for certification measurements for 5G and beyond.
