The ThingMagic M7e-Pico from Jadak is a UHF RAIN RFID Module that is designed for battery-operated applications. It is based on the Impinj E310 RAIN RFID reader chip and supports frequencies from 860 to 930 MHz. This module has a read distance of more than 3 m with a read rate of up to 300 tags/second. It has a wide RF output range from 0 to 24 dBm which is critical in supporting read/write requirements for RFID-enabled printers and tag commissioning stations. The module requires a DC supply from 3.3 to 5.5 V and consumes less than 2.5 W of power (for 24 dBm output) and 0.015 W of power in sleep mode.
The M7e-Pico uses the same Mercury API as other JADAK ThingMagic products, which allows easy software integration and customization based on form-fit-function SKUs. It is flexible enough to allow OEMs to tailor a license that enables the features of interest in the field. This module is configured for multiple regions, such as FCC/IC (North & South America), ETSI (European Union), and other regions including India, China, Korea, Australia, and Japan with a single SKU for global use.
The module is available in a surface-mount package that measures 18 x 21 x 3 mm and supports the EPCglobal Gen2V2 (ISO 18000-63) protocol. It is suitable for use in printers, handhelds, sensor networks, tag commissioning stations, battery-operated devices, smartphone accessories, medical equipment for healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, kiosks, and vending machines.
