The AP5001A from Keysight Technologies is a Portable Analog Signal Generator that operates from 9 kHz to 2/4/6.1 GHz. This signal generator is designed to not only generate high quality RF signals for testing wireless modules/systems but to also accelerate tests and boost throughput. It delivers an output power from -30 dBm to +17 dBm with a power resolution of 0.01 dB and has a frequency step size of 0.001 Hz. This compact signal generator utilizes various modulation capabilities such as AM, FM, PM, pulse modulation, pulse train, and frequency chirps to generate different types of RF signals accurately using a built-in OCXO. It has harmonics of -30 dBc and a phase noise of -130 dBc/Hz (at 20 kHz offset).
The AP5001A provides an optimized user interface using an LCD touchscreen and built-in remote desktop software. This analog signal generator can be controlled via USB and LAN interfaces. It requires an AC supply from 100 to 240 V, a DC supply of 6 V, and consumes less than 20 W of power. It is available in a benchtop enclosure that measures 172 x 250 x 106 mm and has an N-type (female) connector at the output and BNC (female) connectors at the trigger & reference ports.
