The Model 855B Series from Berkeley Nucleonics are Phase-Coherent Multi-Channel RF/Microwave Signal Generators that operate from 300 kHz to 40 GHz. This series consists of 2/3/4/8 channel signal generators with each channel being fully independent to enable users to tune frequency, power, and phase independently. They have a switching time of 25 μs and a power range from -20 to +25 dBm. These signal generators combine fast switching speed with a broad power range and good spurious and harmonic rejection and are ideally suited for a variety of applications where good signal quality and a wide, accurate output power range are required.
The Model 855B Series have a high-stability OCXO reference that provides excellent frequency accuracy and stability. These generators accept standard external 10 MHz or 100 MHz clock references with optional variable reference input that accepts clock frequencies ranging from 1 MHz to 250 MHz in 1 MHz increments. They are designed with scalability in mind and multiple Model 855B units can be synchronized to provide infinite synchronized channels.
The Model 855B series offers various control interfaces such as USB, LAN, or GPIB with each interface allowing easy and fast communication using the SCPI 1999 command set. Remote control of the instruments can be quickly attained from any host computer using the free and intuitive GUI (Graphical User Interface). In addition, a customer-supplied application programming interface (API) or programming examples for Matlab, Labview, C++, and other commercially available tools make implementation very straightforward.
These signal generators are available in standard 19-inch 1U rackmount/custom unit 3U benchtop enclosures with SMA/2.92 mm connectors. They are suitable for use in radar simulation, quantum computing, high volume automated testing, phased array antenna/beamforming, electronic warfare, and SATCOM R&D.
