The SG12000L from DS Instruments is a Signal Generator that generates frequencies from 25 MHz to 12 GHz. It has a frequency step size from 40 to 6000 Hz and produces a wave that is fully synthesized using modern fractional N synthesis. The synthesized source can use an external 10 MHz reference, or its own internal 10 MHz TCXO. This generator provides output power from -25 to +13 dBm (calibrated) with a step size of 0.5 dB and provides a phase control 0 to 360° with a resolution of 1°. It is USB-powered (Type-C), requires a DC supply of 5 V, and consumes 0.75 A of current.
The SG12000L includes an OLED display and can be controlled via front control buttons, or USB and Ethernet interfaces. It is available in a portable enclosure that measures 2.75 x 1.25 x 3.15 inches with gold SMA connectors. It is ideal for use in automated testing environments, radar systems, general RF lab use, flexible LO sourcing, antenna design, EMC testing, production verification and testing, educational/university lab use, aerospace/defense research and X-band test setup applications.
