The R140B from Copper Mountain Technologies is a 1-Port Vector Network Analyzer that operates from 85 MHz to 14 GHz. It supports linear, log and segment sweeps with up to 100,001 measurement points per sweep and a measurement time of 170 µs per point. This VNA has a dynamic range of 112 dB (85 – 4.8 GHz) and a directivity of 42 dB. It connects directly to the DUT without the need for a test cable which results in increased accuracy and quality of VNA measurements, specifically in cable and antenna analysis. The analyzer features USB2.0 mini-USB (Type B) interface and consumes 3 W of power.
The R140B features an RF measurement module, a processing module and a software application which runs on a Windows PC, laptop or tablet, connecting to the measurement hardware via its USB interface. The software application takes raw measurement data from the data acquisition (measurement) module and recalculates into S-parameters in multiple presentation formats utilizing proprietary algorithms. It provides a COM/DCOM (ActiveX) interface, allowing the instrument to be used as a part of a larger test system and in other specialized applications.
The R140B is available in a compact enclosure that measures 127.5 x 64.0 x 27.0 mm and has N-type (male)/SMA-female connectors. It is ideal for users who develop, test, and manufacture products in telecommunications (5G), semiconductor, radio navigation, aerospace, and defense industries. Relevant applications include material, cable, and antenna measurements in field, laboratory, and production testing environments.
