The STWLC98 from STMicroelectronics is a Wireless Charging Receiver that supports Qi specifications 1.2.4 and 1.3 for the inductive communication protocol with Extended Power Profile (EPP). It is based on the proprietary ST Super Charge (STSC) protocol for fast charging. The device integrates a 27 V synchronous rectifier that offers more than 98% efficiency and a low drop-out linear regulator for low power dissipation using output current & input voltage loops. It can deliver an output power of up to 70 W and can also operate as a 15 W wireless transmitter depending on the type of wireless charging coil used.
The STWLC98 has a 32-bit, 64 MHz Arm Cortex M3 core with 16 kB FTP, 16 kB RAM, 80 kB ROM and a 10-bit A/D converter. It is available in a flip-chip package that measures 4.3 x 3.9 mm with 6 configurable GPIO, I2C S-M, and SPI interfaces. This wireless charging receiver offers over-voltage, over-current, and thermal protection, and is ideal for use in smartphones, tablets, laptops, power banks, cordless power tools as well as in medical devices.
