The NRC7394 from Newracom is a Wi-Fi HaLow SoC (System on Chip) that operates from 750 to 950 MHz. It delivers a data rate of up to 15 Mbps and is compliant with the IEEE 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow specification. This SoC has an ARM Cortex-M3 CPU for Wi-Fi and customer applications with a 32 KB boot ROM, 1088 KB system SRAM, 16 KB XIP with cache and a retention memory of 48 KB. It has a fully integrated on-chip 11ah modem, RF transceiver, single Cortex processor and memory. This SoC supports Hosted, Hostless and Standalone operation and has a bandwidth of 1/2/4 MHz. It can connect with up to 8K devices within a single network, making it ideal for environments with dense deployments of IoT devices.
The NRC7394 has integrated power amplifiers and delivers a Tx output power of 17 dBm with a Tx gain range of 30 dB and has an Rx sensitivity of -109 dBm. It supports Legacy, WMM-PS, and TWT low power modes and is compatible with various commercial external FEM devices to enable further flexibility and achieve even higher output power levels. This SoC is available in a 48-QFN package that measures 6 x 6 mm and can be controlled via GPIO, SPI, UART and I2C interfaces.
