Connect One, has introduced the 'Pico WiReach' - its first Wi-Fi module in its next-gen family of 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi modules for the Internet of Things (IoT) market. Network and cloud connectivity is continuing to be a must-have ability for many applications such as medical, security, industrial control, smart grid, asset management, point of sale and the vast growing market of the Internet of Things. Pico WiReach continues the wireless innovation tradition at Connect One that has brought the best value, easiest-to-integrate Wi-Fi modules to the market for over a decade.
Pico WiReach SMTS is a secure Serial-to-Wireless LAN device module that can perform as a WLAN client or Access Point for connecting serial devices to 802.11b/g/n Wireless LANs. The module is based on an ARM 32-bit Cortex-M4 CPU and a Cypress BCM43362 WiFi chipset. The module is RoHS-compliant and measures 28 x 20 x 2.8 mm. It is also available with an onboard antenna option.
It offers excellent system performance for IoT connectivity with Cypress BCM43362 Wi-Fi Transceiver SOC and its 802.11b/g/n MAC and baseband functionality. Pico WiReach includes SSL3.0 and TLS 1.2 security protocols and supports 64/128-bit WEP, WPA/WPA2, AES-128/256, SHA-128/192/256, and 3DES encryption. The module supports Enterprise security by implementing 802.1X authentication with a RADIUS server.
Pico WiReach ships with built-in connectivity to Connect One’s iChipNet cloud. iChipNet cloud enables remote access to Pico WiReach modules for the purpose of maintenance and data collection. 3rd party cloud solutions will be supported with future firmware releases.
Capabilities include: 10 simultaneous TCP/UDP sockets; two listening TCP sockets; SMTP, MIME, POP3, FTP, Secure FTP and HTTP/HTTPS clients; and two HTTP/HTTPS embedded Web servers.
