Keysight Technologies recently joined the 5G Automotive Association or the 5GAA, to contribute in connecting the next-generation 5G wireless communication and the automotive technologies together to innovate connected mobility and road safety. The 5GAA is an automotive association whose mission is to develop, test and promote communication solutions, initiate their standardization and accelerate their commercial availability for connected mobility for the automotive sector. Their solutions will address society’s connected mobility and road safety needs with applications such as autonomous driving, ubiquitous access to services and integration into smart city and intelligent transportation.
Keysight is an active member in a number of automotive industry associations; wireless standard organizations, including 3GPP, and the 5G consortia. They playing a strategic role in providing the broadest design and test tools - from legacy 2G, 3G and 4G, to emerging 5G wireless technologies. Keysight currently provides the automotive industry with a comprehensive array of design, simulation and test solutions for 5G research, including the industry's first 5G exploration library of simulation software. Through the association, Keysight will now collaborate with wireless communication and automotive leaders to set up 5G automotive test cases; define certification processes; address vehicle-to-x (V2X) test and interoperability challenges; and support trial deployments to accelerate the commercial availability of these technologies in the automotive industry.
The 5G Automotive Association (5GAA) was formed on Sep. 27, 2016 and is comprised of automakers and network providers who are collaborating to solve issues related to connected mobility and road safety needs through 5G mobile networks. Applications that 5GAA are working on include autonomous driving, ubiquitous access to services and integration into smart cities and intelligent transportation.
