The BG770A-SN from Quectel is a Satellite Communications Module that is designed to provide global connectivity over the geostationary orbit (GEO) constellation. It enables integrators and developers to design applications easily and quickly at a fast time-to-market by leveraging its low power consumption and compact structure. This module is compliant with 3GPP E-UTRA Release 13/14/17 and supports multiple communication technologies such as LTE Cat M1, LTE Cat NB1/NB2, and NTN-over-NB-IoT. It comprises of a MIPS 5150 processor with integrated RAM and flash memory and also uses a GNSS engine (GPS and GLONASS).
The BG770A-SN includes a hardware-based security feature – integrated security elements (ISE) to offer protection. It is equipped with a rich set of internet protocols and industry-standard interfaces that extend the applicability of this module. This module’s very low-power processor helps reduce current consumption to low levels in various modes, including PSM and e-I-DRX. It is available in a land grid array (LGA) package that measures 14.9 x 12.9 x 1.9 mm. This module is ideal for M2M applications such as wireless POS, smart metering, tracking, and wearables.
