The FA28MD88B from Fujikura are Phased Array Antenna Modules (PAAM) that operate from 24.25 to 29.50 GHz covering 5GNR n257/n258/n261 bands. They support concurrent dual-polarization (vertical and horizontal) and integrate RF-ICs, filters, and an array antenna to reduce development time. These modules deliver an EIRP of 56 dBm with a peak PAE of more than 20% and have an Rx noise figure of less than 4 dB. They have an elevation/azimuth beam-scan range of ±60° and a tunable true-time-delay phase shifter to enable precise and calibration-free gain/phase control. The PAAMs support more than 30,000 beam states with a beam-switching time of less than 200 ns. These modules have a scalable configuration with 8x8-element PAAM as a unit.
The FA28MD88B PAAMs require a DC supply of 1.2/1.5/1.8/2.7 V and consume 20 W of power in Tx mode and 7 W of power in Rx mode. They are available in packages that measure 42.5 x 42.5 x 2.5 mm and are suitable for fixed wireless access (FWA), mobile wireless access, backhaul, and private 5G applications.
