The SSG3500A from Z-Communications is a Smart PLL Frequency Synthesizer that operates from 3 to 4 GHz. It delivers an output power of 7 dBm with a phase noise of -110 dBc/Hz (@100 kHz offset) and provides a harmonic suppression of -15 dBc. This frequency synthesizer has a 100 MHz reference oscillator with a phase noise of -140 dBc/Hz (@1 kHz offset). It requires a DC supply of 18 V and consumes 70 mA of current. This frequency synthesizer can be controlled via a USB-C or Bluetooth interface with an Android/iOS mobile app. It allows adjustment of frequency in fixed mode or sweep mode, attenuation, step size, step time, and internal or external reference oscillators through either drop-down or slider controls.

The SSG3500A includes a series of LEDs that provide a visual cue of functions such as power, lock indication, and Bluetooth connection. It is available in a rugged enclosure that measures 3.27 x 2.50 x 0.70 inches and is ideal for radar, frequency conversion, signal generator, test and measurement, defense, commercial communication, and SATCOM applications.
