The ADRF5515A from Analog Devices is a Dual-Channel Receiver Front-End Module that operates from 3.3 to 4 GHz for time-division duplexing (TDD) applications. This dual-channel receiver FEM has two, two-stage low noise amplifiers and SPDT switches. In high gain mode, the cascaded two-stage LNA and switch offer a high gain of 36 dB at 3.6 GHz with a low noise figure of 1.05 dB and, and typical current consumption of 95 mA. In low gain mode, one stage of the two-stage LNA is in bypass, providing 17 dB of gain at a lower current of 48 mA. In power-down mode, the LNAs are turned off and the device draws 13 mA of current.
In transmit operation, when RF inputs are connected to a termination pin, the switch has an insertion loss of 0.5 dB and can handle LTE average power (9 dB peak to average ratio) of 43 dBm for full lifetime operation. The ADRF5515A is available in a 40-lead LFCSP package that measures 6 x 6 mm and is ideal for use in wireless infrastructure, TDD massive MIMO and active antenna system, and TDD-base communication systems.
