The 8TR1218 from Berex is a Bluetooth LE Smart Front-end RFIC that is designed for range extension of Bluetooth Smart, 802.15.4, ZigBee/Thread, ANT+ and proprietary ISM wireless systems that operate in the 2.4 GHz band. It consists of an integrated power amplifier (PA), a bi-directional bypass, a transmit/receive (T/R) switch, filter networks, and input/output matching circuitry.
It requires a DC supply of 3 V and consumes 18 mA of current (at 10 dBm output power). The RFIC requires only a dual-cell battery supply voltage and a single logic control signal. The 8TR1218 is available in a DFN package that measures 2.00 x 2.00 x 0.45 mm and is ideal for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices, IoT (Internet of Things) / M2M connectivity, Bluetooth audio, Bluetooth mesh networks, sports and medical wearables, consumer electronics, toys, smart home appliances, remote controllers wireless sensor nodes, beacons, proximity sensors and range extender applications.
