The MGFGC5H3103 from Mitsubishi Electric is a Ka-Band GaN MMIC Power Amplifier that operates from 27.5 to 31.0 GHz. It delivers a saturated output power of 41.5 dBm (~14 W) with a gain of 20 dB.. This amplifier supports various types of Ka-band satellite communication services, including satellite news gathering (SNG) and SATCOM emergency systems, in addition to the usual SATCOM applications.

It uses Mitsubishi Electric’s proprietary matching circuitry for high-efficiency, low-distortion operation, resulting in 20% additional power efficiency at maximum linear output power, while maintaining the low distortion required for Ka-band satellite communications. This amplifier is available as a bare die that measures 2.77 x 2.41 x 0.05 mm and is ideal for Ka-band satellite-communication (SATCOM) earth station applications.
