The iM881A-XL from IMST is a compact, low power, bidirectional radio module that operates from 863 to 870 MHz in the unlicensed band. The module combines a powerful Cortex® M0+ STM32L081 controller with a LoRa® transceiver from Semtech® Corporation and has been specifically designed for battery-operated devices. The module can achieve an ultra-long range of 12 km in free space environment with an excellent sensitivity of down to -138 dBm. It requires an operating voltage from 1.8 to 3.6 V and consumes 28 mA in transmit while delivering a maximum output power of +13dBm.
The iM881A-XL minimizes the need for an expensive and time-consuming RF development along with ensuring fast time to market with this pre-qualified module. It provides optimized RF performance in the temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. The radio module is available in a surface-mount package that measures 20 x 25 x 3.3 mm and is suitable for applications such as automated meter reading, wireless networks, home/building/industrial automation, remote control, wireless sensors, telemetry, and wireless alarm and security systems. It is pre-certified according to EN 300 220.
