The SGX1018 from Boonton is a Signal Generator that operates from 100 MHz to 18 GHz. It delivers an output power from -20 to +18 dBm with a phase noise of -106 dBc/Hz and has a frequency switching speed of 200 µs. The generator utilizes a unique non-PLL (phase locked loop) design with a digital front-end and direct, proprietary back end to provide ultra-fine frequency resolution, lightning-fast frequency switching, ultra-low phase noise and jitter, and superior reliability. It has spurious levels of -75 dBc (from 10 MHz to 4 GHz) and harmonics of -60/-70 dBc.
The SGX1018 incorporates an intuitive, multi-touch display that enables easy access and configuration to perform frequency and/or power sweeps to address a wide variety of test requirements. It has USB and Ethernet RJ-45 interfaces and can be remotely controlled using SCPI-1999.0 command set. The generator is available in an enclosure that measures 89 x 211 x 284 mm with N-type (female) and BNC (female) connectors. It requires an AC supply from 90 to 260 V (47 to 60 Hz) and consumes less than 30 W of power.
