The HMC8414 from Analog Devices is a Low Noise Amplifier that operates from 0.1 to 10 GHz. It provides a gain of 14.5 to 16.5 dB with a noise figure of less than 3 dB and has an output P1dB of 20.5 dBm. This LNA has an integrated bypass switch for high dynamic range systems with large receive path signal variation. In the bypass path, the LNA has an insertion loss of 1.5 dB and an input third-order intercept (IIP3) of 49.4 dBm. It requires a DC supply of 5 V and consumes less than 110 mA of current. The amplifier is fabricated on a GaAs pHEMT process and is available in a 16-lead LFCSP package that measures 3 x 3 mm with inputs and outputs that are internally matched to 50 ohms. It is ideal for test and measurement equipment and wideband high dynamic range receiver applications.
